"What Akito was saying," Ivan interrupted; his emotions about to explode: "That she understands my situation--not the details of it."
Everyone looked at him; clearly listening, and deeply interested in what he had to say.
"I'm a Krusader," Ivan began, laughing grimly: "And all of my missions have done nothing but caused pain to the ones I've loved.
"My first mission was to burn down our hometown...I didn't know until the very day I was supposed to do it. At first, I was going to refuse, but then I thought of you, Ivy. The fire could be a three-fold win for me; I'd dispose of all rivals that wished to win your heart, save our families, and look like a hero to you." Tears formed in his eyes, as he managed to smile: "Ivy, I loved you, and you were too dense to notice."
"You could've just told me, Ivan."
"I DID and what GOOD did that do?!"
"But, I thought-"
"-you loved me like a sister," Ivan snipped, finishing her sentence: "That's because you always looked at me as the brother you never had--and I was sick of it. I was sick of you not noticing my feelings EVEN WHEN I TOLD YOU TIME AND AGAIN! I was SICK of all those admirers fawning all over you to your face, and making fun of me for loving you behind your back. You wondered why I was so depressed near the end of our friendship?!? THAT WAS WHY!!"
Ivan breathed in and out; trying to calm down.
"After the fire, I found you and Kanon--I took both of you to the hospital. Ivy was released within a few days, but Kanon was in much worse condition so they had to keep her longer.
"Years passed, and I kept training in the Krusaders--after Lazereth and Akito ran away, they replaced Lazereth with me.
"Later they found out Lazereth was here; my mission to wipe him out by separating his friends from him.
"And," He laughed at the irony: "By the cruelest twist of fate; my mission involved hurting Ivy, and Kanon YET AGAIN! And YET again, I had ANOTHER RIVAL for Ivy to dispose of--only this time, fate decided to be crueler by having--Ivy--love him back."
For the first time; everyone's heart pained for Ivan--they still didn't like him, but they pitied him greatly--especially Ivy.
"Ivan...I'm so sorry."
"What's worse is; it's my own doing." He turned his back to them, and watched the sunrise. He chuckled: "Lazereth's speech about Ivy's beauty, and sunsets was quite adorable, and pretty poetic."
His eyes met Ivy's as he turned to her:
"And he's never been so right in his life...I just wish I was able to say it before he was."
"
