Ivy breathed in, and breathed out; forcing her temper to cool.
"Alright," She managed to say, calmly: "What IS going on, Akito? Do you mind enlightening the rest of us?"
Ivan scooted towards Akito; she seemed like the only one who was on his side.
He was thankful for that too.

Kanon rubbed her eyes and sat next to Ivy.

Ivy held Kanon's hand; acknowledging her presence. Ivy's eyes iced over in impatience as she asked firmly:
    "Akito, WHAT do you know?"

Post by ShootingStar Fri Mar 27, 2009 6:22 am

"What Akito was saying," Ivan interrupted; his emotions about to explode: "That she understands my situation--not the details of it."
Everyone looked at him; clearly listening, and deeply interested in what he had to say.
"I'm a Krusader," Ivan began, laughing grimly: "And all of my missions have done nothing but caused pain to the ones I've loved.
"My first mission was to burn down our hometown...I didn't know until the very day I was supposed to do it. At first, I was going to refuse, but then I thought of you, Ivy. The fire could be a three-fold win for me; I'd dispose of all rivals that wished to win your heart, save our families, and look like a hero to you." Tears formed in his eyes, as he managed to smile: "Ivy, I loved you, and you were too dense to notice."
"You could've just told me, Ivan."
"I DID and what GOOD did that do?!"
    "But, I thought-"
"-you loved me like a sister," Ivan snipped, finishing her sentence: "That's because you always looked at me as the brother you never had--and I was sick of it. I was sick of you not noticing my feelings EVEN WHEN I TOLD YOU TIME AND AGAIN! I was SICK of all those admirers fawning all over you to your face, and making fun of me for loving you behind your back. You wondered why I was so depressed near the end of our friendship?!? THAT WAS WHY!!"
Ivan breathed in and out; trying to calm down.
"After the fire, I found you and Kanon--I took both of you to the hospital. Ivy was released within a few days, but Kanon was in much worse condition so they had to keep her longer.
"Years passed, and I kept training in the Krusaders--after Lazereth and Akito ran away, they replaced Lazereth with me.
"Later they found out Lazereth was here; my mission to wipe him out by separating his friends from him.
"And," He laughed at the irony: "By the cruelest twist of fate; my mission involved hurting Ivy, and Kanon YET AGAIN! And YET again, I had ANOTHER RIVAL for Ivy to dispose of--only this time, fate decided to be crueler by having--Ivy--love him back."
For the first time; everyone's heart pained for Ivan--they still didn't like him, but they pitied him greatly--especially Ivy.
    "Ivan...I'm so sorry."
"What's worse is; it's my own doing." He turned his back to them, and watched the sunrise. He chuckled: "Lazereth's speech about Ivy's beauty, and sunsets was quite adorable, and pretty poetic."
His eyes met Ivy's as he turned to her:
"And he's never been so right in his life...I just wish I was able to say it before he was."

Akito stood there in silence, kinda shocked at the story he told but, she could some-what relate to him. She sighed and put a hand to her head. "Well..." she mumbled. What now?

"My life is in your hands..." Ivan smirked: "I'm a traitor to everyone--my family, my friends, and now my fellow soliders. Do with me what you will; I'd rather you handle my fate then those of the Krusaders."

Ivan looked at Akito; frowning in uncertainty.
"Perhaps I'm a mine of information?" He quipped: "Too valuable to die yet--yes I understand such tactics."
"Ivan," Ivy began, but he cut her off.
"If you're not going to kill me, Akito, what ARE you going to do to me?"

"By the looks of things, you're the second in command; I'd assume that you would know."
"I think we should leave the jerk!" Kanon sneered: "He's been nothing but trouble."
"We can't do that, Kanon," Ivy responded firmly: "He's done a very dangerous--and honorable thing by telling us these things."
"Finally a kind word for me," Ivan muttered
Lazereth sighed as he put his hand over his face; clearly he was overwhelmed, and didn't want to mess with this--AGAIN.
"Part of me agrees with Kanon, Akito--and yet part of me agrees with Ivy--what should we do?"

Akito looked at Ivan and raised an eyebrow. You better realize I'm saving your life right here. She shrugged. "Why not bring him with us? Let's say...as a captive?"

"A CAPTIVE?!?" Ivan shrilled: "I'd rather DIE then be a PRISONER!"
    Lazereth:
"Keep talking, buddy and YOU WILL be dead."
"Besides," Kanon added: "You're REALLY in no position to be argumentative."
"Ivan," Ivy addressed him, as she held his arm: "Please--don't make this anymore difficult then you already have."
    Ivan winced as he replied:
"For you, Ivy, I'll do anything--even becoming a captive."
    Ivy smiled:
    "Thank you."
"Ironically," He mused as he pulled out some chains from under his cloak: "I'll be bound by the chains I intended for Lazereth."

Akito clicked the chain-bands around Ivan's wrists as he smirked:
"You're getting pleasure out of this aren't you?"
"If you haven't noticed," Lazereth put in: "We don't like you very much."
    Kanon chimed in:
"Because, should I say again, YOU'VE BEEN A JERK!"
    Ivy stated:
"That's enough--both of you. We should be thankful that Ivan had changed his mind in following his master's orders."
Around day break, everyone broke camp, and their journey began...
Ivan was forced to ride between Akito, and Kanon. They were assigned to be his guards during the daytime, and Lazereth would be his guard during the nighttime (while keeping Ivy as far away from Ivan as possible).
Ivan watched Akito for a short while and finally asked:
"What made you change your mind about the Krusaders?"

Akito was lost in thought when Ivan spoke up. Her eyes widened and she looked over. "Well that was  a random question." she muttered, then sighed and shrugged, looking forward again. "Why wouldn't I leave?" she shook her head. "I was only staying there because Lazareth was still in. Right when he left, I did too shortly after." Akito shrugged again. "I realized that I could do better in life," she looked at Ivan, "Than be with them."

"If only I were that wise..." He mused, looking away: "I would've known that much sooner, and caused less pain."
    Kanon retorted:
    "You got THAT right, sucker!"
    "Kanon, BACK OFF!" Akito snapped
"She has the right to hate me, Akito..." Ivan shrugged: "Don't deny her the right. I've denied her, and her sister of so many things. I deserve to be despised."

Lazereth looked as if he was about to tell her, but then stopped. He couldn't tell Akito--he couldn't tell them. He couldn't tell anyone, especially Ivy--he knew that if she found out he was going home, probably having to leave her behind; it'd break her heart.
"I can't say." He finally responded.
Akito frowned in curiosity, as did everyone with her.

About the middle of the afternoon; all of them stopped to rest and eat under the shade of palms out in the desert. Ivy sat with Lazereth, and Kanon, while Ivan was forced to eat alone (not out of sight of course--Akito was close enough to him that she'd catch him if he tried to escape).
Akito took some died fruit, water, and bread over to Ivan. When she set the plate of food down before him; he said nothing, as he refused to eat, and curled himself under the shade.

"The disgust I feel is quite enough food for me," He smirked grimly: "I lost my appetite when Ivy said she hated me...you have no idea how painful that is. Someone you love deeply looks at you with that penetrating anger in their eyes, and say "I hate you,"--it's even worse when you know you deserve it."
Ivan drew his legs closer to his chest, as he kept his face away from Akito:
"I'd rather die of starvation, or torture then ever hear those words again..." He muttered to no one in particular: "Part of me wishes I was dead already--what irony! I find living more painful, and terrifying then death."
