Days of the End

Lazareth tried to stand up "Must protect them" He thought to hisself. He slowly raised his body of the table, painfully. He slowly drew his sword and put it to the doctors neck "If... anyone shall.. End this, it will be me" Lazareth Panted.

The doctor smiled--and started laughing--a hideous and wicked cackle that chilled all of their spines.
"Oh, it'll be the end FOR YOU--don't you think I was prepared? I poisoned your bandages...in a day you'll be as cold, and as dead as the desert night!"
Suddenly an arrow pinned the doctor's arm to the wall; they all looked to see a VERY ANGRY Ivy:
"If you WANT to live," She told the doctor: "Tell us how to stop the poison--NOW!"
The doctor swallowed; it seemed the sword at his throat, and the arrow in his coat sleeve seemed to be changing his mind.
"Here," He reached into his coat pocket, and handed Lazereth a velvet pouch--Ivy saw Lazereth was too weak to open it, so she did. The pouch was filled with a white powder that smelled sweet.
"Have him drink this--once a day. This'll keep him from dying, and it'll slow down the poison; after a week he should be completely cured."
"You're a wise man indeed." Ivy sneered, not convinced; she looked to the others: "Let's get out of here!"
"If you're looking for horses," The Doctor added: "I have some outside my office that are for sale."
"No thank you," Ivy said curtly, as she helped Lazereth to his feet: "We've had QUITE ENOUGH HELP from YOU!"

without another word they had quickly made their leave. Lazareth was still feeling week, but at least now he wasn't bleeding. "I should have killed him... he after all killed Harmony" Lazareth thought back to that day, in the village of Celescia, the day it burnt to the ground. In search of Lazareth they had destroyed the village and killed nearly everyone living in it. He remembered the helplessness he felt as he held Harmony while she died. While he was thinking of this he remembered something Jed had said to Akito "Betrayed me for the love of a friend"
"Akito.... what had he meant? When he said that about you."

Akito sheathed her sword, walking in front of them and staring at the ground. "It...it meant nothing." she muttered, looking up ahead of her and shaking her head. "He was just talking nonsense...as usual..." Akito bit her bottom lip and sighed.

Ivy eyed Akito carefully; the way Akito blushed at Lazereth's question was adorable! Akito caught Ivy staring at her, and Ivy quickly looked away, as a small smile appeared on her face.
"What?" Akito asked, as she helped Ivy carry Lazereth.
"It's-well..."Ivy thought the situation was touching yet awkward: "It's...just a thought I had."
"What is it?" Akito pressed.
"Well, I was just thinking about how love motivates people to do all sorts of insane things--like "betrayl"." She smiled at Akito: "Has love caused you to do such daring deeds, Akito? I have the feeling that you saved Lazereth's life even before we met (it is of no wonder why, because it's clear you two are close)."

"Akito love me?" Such a thought never occured to Lazareth, he had always thought of her as a sister. Lazareth shook his head "Anyways... where should we head off to now?" He looked at Ivy, who was still smiling.

"Yes!" Ivy huffed out of determination: "I've had enough of this disgusting place..."
Ivy bit her lower lip in thought, which caused Lazereth to ask her:
"What's wrong?"
"Well," She replied: "With your wound, and no horses, how far are we going to get? I'm wondering if I SHOULD take the doctor's offer on his horses. As much as I hate to admit it; we need them, or we'll die here."
"You mean murdered," Akito whispered in disgust: "What should we do, Lazereth?"

Lazareth did not want to trust him, the last time he fell for one of Jed's tricks it ended with Lazareth having a sword in his back. How ever Lazareth was in no condition to make any long journeys on foot, and so he was now finding himself between a rock and a hard place. "My instinct tells me...not to trust him...but common sense tells me we need the horses."

Ivy rolled her eyes; she knew Lazereth was right, but she hated having to plead with such a repulsive man as that doctor.
"Alright...I'll go. The doctor has no history with me, so he'll likely trust me more than you two."
"But-" Akito began, but Ivy cut her off.
"Look, we need the horses--besides, I know how to protect myself. Anyhow, I have you to back me up, Akito."
Akito and Lazereth looked at each-other; it was clear that neither of them were thrilled with Ivy going back by herself. Before they could argue, Ivy was gliding back to the doctor, who was still standing in the door way of his building.
"Alright," Ivy said firmly: "I want your horses--how much?"
The doctor smiled as he played with her hair; Ivy shuddered at him being so close.
"For you, I require only one thing."
"And that would be?"
He brought her face to his:
"A kiss."
Ivy squeaked as she tried to slap him, but he grabbed her hand, and kissed her.
Those few seconds were the nastiest seconds of Ivy's entire life--it was even grosser than having to clean up horse manure.
"His lips ARE SO SLIMY!!" Ivy's thoughts screamed in disgust, as she punched his shoulder multiple times.
Finally their lips parted, and he let her go.
Ivy looked sick as she spat multiple times: hoping the salvia would get rid of that slimy sensation.
The doctor laughed, as he walked around the corner, and brought back three horses; all reined, saddled, and ready to go.
He handed Ivy the reins as he cooed:
"Ride safely, my dove."
Ivy's face turned red; she was obviously angry, but too disgusted to say anything witty, so she stomped away.
Akito saw the whole thing, and her mouth was still gaping when Ivy came back.
Ivy mused as her face became so red it looked sunburned:
"The things I do for my friends."
Akito fumed:
"YOU didn't kiss him; he kissed YOU, the creep!"
Ivy grinned:
"At least we have horses."

ooc: Okay, so I can just storm in then? Ooooh!! Can I be your sister??? Pwease?

Kanon ran into the stalls and say Ivy's face all red. "I miss somthin?"

Ivy grimaced as she wiped her mouth:
"Only the most disgusting man in the world kissing me...where did you come from, little sis?"

ooc= Serriously where did you come from? Like you just poofed in lol (not critisizing just saying you didn't like explain where you were or how you got here)

ooc: I don't really know... Like, what's happened? Maybe she couldve been with a friend or lost or at the store or somthing and just caught up to Ivy and ya'll?

OOC=ok... just try and incorperate that (other wise it's quite confusing..) we are trying to do this like a book (I'm actualy making it into one) and so we are making the events flow together.

OOC= Why not have Kanon live in the city? Maybe Kanon thought Ivy died in the fire, and moved to the Fortress after the fire happened?

Kanon walked through the central part of the city. She was on her way to do some errands. She looked up at the sky and wished that her sister was with her.

OOC= nice.. and now we can move on

Lazareth shook his head in disgust... "It's just like Jed to try something like that" He looked up at Ivy "You ok?" he asked her, she noded at him.
"Good..." He whispered "I expected you to be sick" suddenly his stomach began to growl.... "Oh" Akito giggled
"Should we find a place to eat?" She asked "Yeah.. hopefully not too expensive of a place"
"All I know is I am not kissing any more creeps from your past" Ivy spat again.
"Well, I'm sure we can find some place that doesn't accept lips as curency"

"Lip currency, ahahaha very funny," Ivy smirked sarcastically as she wiped her mouth some more: "I pity the soul that falls in love with him!"
Ivy paused for a minute, and then thought aloud:
"Let me see, a place to eat..." Suddenly she stopped as she saw a young girl walking into the city's square.
Ivy's eyes widened as she gasped:
"Kanon! Is it really you?"
Lazereth and Akito looked at eachother; it was clear what the other was thinking; has Ivy gone insane?? Who was she talking about?
Without warning, Ivy started running to the young girl.

Kanon jerked her head in the direction she heard her name. Now she was sure she lost it, because that looked just like her sister running towards her. It can't be possible though, Ivy's dead! she thought as she stared at the girl running towards her.

"KANON!!" Ivy screamed happily as she grabbed her sister. She was so happy, tears were streaming down her face as she pulled back, and giggled: "Kanon, it's ME, IVY! Your older sister!" She hugged her again: "Thank GOD you're alive! What happened to you? I thought you died in the fire!"

Kanon couldn't help but giggle. Yup, this is Ivy alright...or I've finally snapped. "I-I thought you died! What happened to you? Where have you been? Oh Ivy... I missed you!" She said as she sobbed into her sisters shirt.

Ivy and Kanon both cried happily in each other's arms:
"I went back to the house when the fire died, but you were gone--I just thought--" She hugged her sister again: "I'm so glad you're ALIVE!!"
Ivy suddenly remembered that Akito and Lazereth were standing a few feet away, so she giggled to her sister:
"Kanon, there are some new friends I'd LOVE to introduce you to! Come on!" Ivy laughed as she dragged her sister to Akito and Lazereth.
