Guardian Elves

Shoun laid in bed; appearing to be asleep, but really he was taking in the sweet taste of being in love as well as being loved.
Oh if only this would last forever...
Suddenly he heard a knock on the door:
"Come in." He said softly; hoping that the warmth of his heart wouldn't be scared away.

Mereneth took a deep breath and opened the door, poking her head inside. She smiled a little, "Hey...how are you feeling?"

Shoun looked over, and returned her smile. He was awfully pale, and clearly exhausted, but that didn't keep him from smiling.
"I'm much better now that you're here," He reached out to her. Mereneth walked over to him, and he took her hand, and kissed it softly: "I missed you terribly," Shoun held her hand against his cheek for a few moments, and then asked her: "How are you feeling? You've had quite a day."

Mereneth blushed a little and shrugged. "I'm doing good...just exhausted." she smiled, then swallowed hard. He didn't look too well. She squeezed his hand gently. "Are you going to be alright?"

Shoun chuckled:
"I'll live."
His eyes met hers, and a sweet silence passed between them. There were so many things each person wanted to say, but had no words to express it.
Suddenly a man's voice jolted them out of their thoughts:
"Hello there! You must be Shoun Galveriour."
Shoun looked to see Peter Hampton walking over to him, and extend his hand.

Mereneth glared a little, avoiding eye contact with Peter. "Hello." she mumbled, letting of Shoun's hand and crossing her arms.

Peter made a concious effort to stare at her; he'd been after her for a long time, but Monique was easier prey.
His brown eyes shifted to Shoun, as they shook hands.
"What happened to you?" Peter quipped.

Mereneth squinted her eyes and glanced over at him, "It's nothing. Food poisoning from a place we ate at most likely." 

Peter's eyes brightened with interest:
"I'm asking SHOUN these questions, if you don't mind, Mereneth."
Shoun closed his eyes, suddenly very tired, as Peter's voice continued to annoy:
"As much as we enjoy feasting our eyes on such beauty; I'd prefer we talk ALONE."

Mereneth had enough and she spun around, facing him and glaring. "Well excuse me but you aren't in the position to order me around now, are you?"

Peter pushed his face right into hers.
"Oh but I WILL be," His eyes shifted to Shoun's: "It was nice to meet you. Good night."
He glided out of the hallway, very much like a vampire.
Shoun swallowed:
"Quite a pleasant fellow isn't he?"

Mereneth glared and watched him go, then sat down on a chair next to Shoun's bed. "He freaks me out." she mumbled, then tears welled up in her eyes when she thought about what she had done. Mereneth quickly wiped them away and smiled, looking at Shoun.

Shoun observed her tears, and looked in the direction where Peter had gone:
"Your bargain has to do with HIM doesn't it?"

Mereneth's eyes widened a little. "Ah...n-no! Of course not!!" she laughed a little, then right after felt guilty for lying to him.

Shoun rubbed his eyes; he was more tired then he realized:
"Well, my dear, we both need rest so--*yawn* good night, my love."

Mereneth nodded and stood up. "Right....well...good night." she smiled a little and turned, going outside in the hall and closing the door behind her, then made her way to the library.

The Shadow Wraith was finishing his report to Natas:
"...and NOW Peter's been allowed BACK into their presence!"
Natas smiled:
"Excellant," He turned to the Ice-Witch: "I believe it's now YOUR turn to work your magic, Serena."
(Serena is the Ice-Witch's name).
"You DO know your part, don't you?" The dragon asked her sarcastically

The Ice Witch sighed, looking like she was completely bored with the situation that was going on. "Oh please...do remind me what I have to do." she smirked a little and leaned back, folding her hands and giving a cold smile. 

Natas smirked back:
"You're supposed to help Peter finish off Shoun Galuverior--but remember to have NO ONE suspect you--alright?"
The Shadow Wraith snickered:
"She has to work with a HUMAN!! AHAHAHAHA!"

The Ice Witch glared. "Ugh you two are lucky I don't freeze you into ice cubes right this second." she sighed and went over to a bright ice blue box and opened the top carefully, revealing a necklace with a blue stone pendant hanging from the chain. She picked it up and smirked. "Good thing I have this..." she held it up in the light as it sparkled. "It allows me to have the form of a human body so no one will recognize me as the Ice Witch." she laughed evily and put the necklace around her neck and touched the pendant with her two forefingers and suddenly she transformed into a beautiful girl, looking around 18 years old, and dressed in a blue dress. Her hair fell to her waist, having a light blue tint to it. The Ice Witch looked at the two and laughed. "HA!! This will be much easier to do than I thought."

Shoun woke up the next morning, and felt quite lazy. He was dreaming about Mereneth, and they were flittering around like usual love birds, and were about to kiss...
When the sun shattered his dream.
He sighed, as he heard Mereneth knock on his door.

Shoun's heart raced at the sound of her voice:
"Yes, my dear--come on in!"

Peter had woken up early, because he was keeping a watch for Serena. He huffed, when he heard the sound of soft foot steps brushed up the stairs.
Peter saw a young, but very beautiful girl of 18 in a bright blue dress.
He walked opened the doors of the castle, and walked up to her.
"Her highness, I presume?"

Shoun's heart melted inside his chest as he cooed:
"Hello...did you sleep well?"

Peter rolled his eyes, as he ran in front of her:
"WAIT HERE, for NOW! We don't want to arouse any suspicion!"
